An experienced Clinical Project Lead role that is responsible for overseeing highly critical and big-scale global clinical trials end-to-end. The role will collaborate with strong experts through all trial stages and will excel in a lead role that supports the development of products that can make a true difference for people with diseases worldwide.

You will work in Clinical Operations, part of Clinical Drug Development for Obesity & NASH. In the role, you will have more than 60 colleagues in various roles that execute clinical trials through phases 1-3 in more than 50 countries and across 4.300 sites. The pipeline is extensive and exciting, and Novo Nordisk manages all parts of the clinical trials.


The Role


As Clinical Project Lead, you will take a leading role and manage up to 3 global clinical trials at a time. You will assume end-to-end accountability for the trials (planning, execution, and completion) and ensure they are executed according to scope, budgets, and timeline.


You will continuously drive trials forward while ensuring that all cross-functional stakeholders communicate, coordinate, and cooperate according to plan. Towards the stakeholders, you will maintain open, clear communication about goals and progress in the study groups, where you will provide leadership and motivation, delegate tasks and drive people forward.

  • Impeccable trial planning
  • Budget accountability
  • Identification of and resolving issues and obstacles to meet timelines
  • Excellence in facilitating team collaboration and efficiencies
  • Balance between having a helicopter view and diving deep into details


The role will be based in Denmark and have a global scope. Therefore, it will be important that you are comfortable building relationships across borders with colleagues from different cultures. Most likely, you will experience not being the best in everything, and hopefully, you will enjoy that you can rely on others to support you in executing successful trials.


The Profile

Whilst providing direction and leadership, you are also a true team player. Professionally, you can contribute with similar and relevant experience that you have acquired from other international pharmaceutical organizations:


  • In-depth knowledge about clinical trial methodology and personal views on how to best execute trials – strong in project management
  • Nurse or M.Sc. in Natural Science with solid experience in executing and project managing global clinical trials, where you have acted as lead
  • Experience working in an HQ environment and from an international perspective
  • Knowledge of clinical IT systems
  • Fluent in English

Clinical Drug Development activities, with more than 650 people, are anchored in the Development organization and play a vital part in Novo Nordisk’s ambitious drug development program.
