Commercial Project Manager to Business-critical Projects – Abacus Medicine

Do you want to support the development of commercial strategies, structures, tools, and governance in a fast-growing and ambitious pharma company? Do you want to work with international cross-functional projects from business case to project scoping to execution? If you are motivated by making a difference and being part of an engaged team that operates as an in-house management consultancy, and with room to influence priorities and how to execute projects, you might be, what we are looking for.

As Commercial Project Manager, you will be part of a newly established Global Commercial Project team with 4 Project Managers and 2 Student Assistants. The team has been established because of Abacus Medicine’s need to go to next step in their growth. Business, and ambitious plans are in place, and now there is a need execution and for developing the right governance structure, tools, and processes. The team is responsible for project management of key commercial projects, driving the commercial strategy and supporting M&A activities.

The Global Commercial Project team is placed centrally with direct access to executive management and enjoys a strong mandate. In everything they do, they strive to create impact and take ownership, while having fun together, and collaborating and engaging stakeholders. As Commercial Project Manager, you will report to the Head of Global Commercial Projects and work out of Abacus Medicine’s international headquarters in Copenhagen.

Business critical projects and business support

There is an extensive project pipeline, with exciting projects that will create true change in perceptions and behaviours. You will be responsible for independently executing projects in an organisation that is maturing and that is eager to get your project management expertise in-house. With a good portion of common sense and a pragmatic approach, you will ensure successful implementation, including follow-up and reporting, risk management, quality assurance of project deliveries, supplier management, etc. Your main responsibilities are to:

  • manage and drive impactful and complex projects including owning project deliverables.
  • perform initial assessment of new ideas, scope projects and run explorative “labs” with the organisation.
  • support the business strategy process and M&A activities for the business.

In-house or external management consultant with project management experience

Hopefully, you have a background as a project manager with experience from the consulting, an in-house consulting function or a PMO function. In your projects, you are used to execute strategic commercial projects as well as organisational and cross-functional projects and change management. You combine your experience with a relevant master’s degree, and high proficiency in spoken and written English. Furthermore, you are excellent in using MS tools, particularly PowerPoint and Excel.

You are a good communicator, who can communicate your solutions clearly and convincing to decision-makers and stakeholders. Through your advice and support, you demonstrate a strong business orientation and have an ability to quickly familiarize yourself with complex business issues. Furthermore, you believe yourself to:

  • have a strong conceptual and commercial mindset.
  • balance a solid analytical and emotional intelligence –with strong stakeholder management skills and ability to work cross-functionally with various levels of an organisation.
  • be independent, structured as well as a team-player.
