Global Media Director to VELUX Group

A media executive role, where you can make a true difference in future media spending. This is a role that involves leading the strategic media planning as well as continuous optimisation, bringing in best-in-class media practices as well as orchestrating global, regional and local internal stakeholders, and management of the media agencies.

As Global Media Director, you will report to the SVP Global Brand Marketing and be a member of and a strong contributor to the leadership team. Global Brand Marketing covers Media Management, Brand Management, Business Marketing, Performance Marketing, Analytics & Strategic Pricing, Marketing Enablement & Strategy, and Group Insights & Marketing Analytics, and count approx. 130 dedicated people delivering excellence every day.

Work location is the Head Office in Hoersholm or you can work in a hybrid set-up.

Setting VELUX’s direction for global media planning and strategies

As Global Media Director, you will serve a crucial role in overseeing and managing media planning and buying for VELUX and manage this primarily through a trusted partner and strategic vendors. It will happen in close collaboration and dialogue with the regions. You will oversee the development and execution of effective media planning strategies to drive brand desire and awareness, increase customer engagement, position new marketing platform, and ultimately realise ambitious business goals.

Together with an experienced team of 18+ media professionals, at Group level and in the regions, as well as with your external partner and vendors, you will fully utilise, allocate, optimise, or increase media spend depending on ambitions. You will provide advice on and facilitate a successful collaboration between all parties, from a strategic to a detailed level. Your strategic capabilities will also come in full use as member of the leadership team, where you are expected to contribute to the full range of strategic objectives across the Brand Marketing value chain. Furthermore, you will work with following:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive media strategies and plans that align with the overall marketing objectives, target audiences, and funnels.
  • Collaborate with Brand Management to define campaign objectives, messaging, and creative assets to ensure effective communication and brand consistency.
  • Manage relationships with media vendors, negotiate contracts, and evaluate media proposals to secure optimal media placements and cost efficiencies.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging media platforms, and innovative media strategies to recommend and implement new opportunities for reaching target audiences.
  • Manage media budgets to maximise short and long term impact on VELUX brand and business, align with regions and their budgets, while also ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting and adherence to budgetary constraints.
  • Lead and mentor a team of media professionals and leaders, and directly and through providing leaders set the direction, coach, and foster a growth mindset and maximise their performance.

International media executive that can create excellence

We see you as an experienced leader in media management and a strategic thinker, who can develop effective strategies for how to create commitment and motivation for VELUX’s exciting brand and media transformation. At the same time, you can balance protecting the core, while also fostering innovation in media planning. This, you combine with being an experienced people leader, who is great in coaching, supporting and guiding employees at various seniority levels. You naturally engage with others and are a role model, when it comes to developing positive, effective relationships.

In your work, you set ambitious strategies, take ownership, support people, and develop plans, and you are relentless in the pursuit of growing awareness across target groups, establishing data-driven insights, and creating efficiencies and ROI. To support your distinct people skills, you have experience in following:

  • An experienced leader, with transformation and change management experience, and proven results from leading high-performance teams.
  • Master’s degree in marketing, advertising, communications, or a related field.
  • Practice leader in media management, with proven experience in media strategy and planning in full funnel, preferably from a combination of agency and corporate marketing.
  • Experience from managing media budgets across all media channels, analysing performance metrics, and using insights to take and optimise actions.
  • Proven track record of successful media campaigns, demonstrating the ability to set direction, drive results, and realise business objectives.
  • Experience from working in international matrix organisations, dealing with multiple stakeholders with whom you have co-created, collaborated, and related.
  • Excellent English communication skills.
