For Abacus Medicine, we are looking for a skilled Tax Expert, with either a Tax or Auditor background, who wants to further specialize and build expertise. We offer a unique opportunity to take lead in building a practice for Tax and Transfer Pricing including all securing all related documentation and processes, and to collaborate with external advisors in local countries. The platform has been built, and you are expected to build upon this and positively influence how a modern Tax practice operates.

The role is part of Group Finance that is part of the CFO organization, and in total, the CFO organisation entails approx. 30 FTEs excluding local resources. Finance in Abacus Medicine has grown rapidly during the last few years because of an expansion of local representation in selected markets and due to rapid growth. This had led to exciting projects in Finance in connection with e.g., tax optimization, and setting up new country structures.

As Group Tax Manager, you report to the Head of Group Finance, interact with management across all countries, collaborate with local external advisors, and work out of the international headquarters in Copenhagen.

The Job

In the role as Group Tax Manager in Group Finance, your responsibilities are divided between corporate tax, transfer pricing and VAT related issues – and not least, exciting projects in connection with setting up new tax structure and streamlining and optimizing tax processes and tools. The operational tasks include but are not limited to the below as you can influence the content:

  • Ensure compliance with corporate tax and VAT legislation in all relevant jurisdictions with support from external tax advisors.
  • Cooperate with the business and management regarding tax and VAT issues and be the main tax specialist in the Group.
  • Controlling of VAT reporting in selected countries and prepare Danish corporate income tax compliance and reporting obligations.
  • Transfer pricing documentation including compliance with transfer pricing legislation in all relevant jurisdictions with support from external tax advisors.
  • Establish, develop, document, and implement an effective tax control framework including ongoing controlling of this.
  • Identify, develop, and implement strategies relevant to the Group.
  • New tasks that you define and find necessary for the function.

The Profile

You are analytical and with an ambition to develop your skills in Tax by covering a broad range of Tax related tasks in an international context. You demonstrate good communication skills and can explain complexities to stakeholders that do not have the same level of tax sophistication. You are result driven, proactive, takes the lead, and can work with deadlines. As Abacus Medicine continues to grow rapidly, you show an entrepreneurial mindset and is flexible and able to operate in a dynamic and agile environment, where business comes first, and where you take lead on your own development and tasks. You can involve, engage, and collaborate with colleagues across countries and build trust and strong collaborations.

Most importantly, you have, professionally, a strong knowledge of Danish and international Tax Rules and EU VAT compliance – or in other words, you know your way around Tax and Transfer Pricing. In addition to this, you can nod yes to having:

  • M.Sc. in Finance, Auditing, or a Master’s in Tax and preferably with some knowledge about tax when it travels through reporting – either from consulting or an international corporation.
  • Sufficient experience in direct and indirect taxes that enables you to work independently and act as advisor.
  • In-depth knowledge of Danish and international Tax Rules and EU VAT compliance.
  • Strong skills in English and preferably with working knowledge of Danish.
  • Highly skilled in Excel, PP, and IT in general. Abacus Medicine uses Dynamics 365.
