Are you invested in securing a safe environment for future generations? Do you know the threat that traditional biocides cause and how broadly they are represented in our everyday lives? Are you a very structured and organized project manager, with knowledge about chemicals and/or microbiology, and would you like to be a key player in a scale-up company with great ambitions? Then, we recommend you continue reading.

This role offers a unique opportunity to join a growing company with an impactful purpose, backed by strong investors from the Innovation Fund Denmark and the EU. Purgos is a Danish company, based on the discovery and application development of a low-toxic and low-volatile organic compound alternative to traditional biocides.

We are looking for a Project Manager, who can be a ‘Jack of all trades’, who can manage multiple tasks. The tasks include managing stakeholders and reporting in a huge EU funded project, finding Purgos’ future office location, overseeing outsourced manufacturing and logistics processes, and more.

You are offered a unique role in a scale-up and with a lot of autonomy, reporting to the CEO. The intention is, within 1-2 years, to grow in number of employees. Currently, your future colleagues are represented by a few employees as well as external partners.

About Purgos – state of the art next-generation low-toxic biocide

The use of Purgos’ chemical substance discovery holds substantial potential as the next-generation low-toxic biocide (or biocide equivalent) for multiple applications. It has proven effective as a preservative in several industrial applications including paints, coatings and wood protection as well as a general bactericidal and fungicidal action. Indications also show possible use of Purgos as a preservative within e.g. cosmetics and skin care applications as well as a range of other waterborne industrial and consumer products. In short, the solution is ready as a base solution, the customers, big players within their industries, are very interested, and the funding is in place.

Play a key role in a game-changing company in a traditional industry

In this role, you will be widely exposed to external stakeholders and play a vital part together with our small global team to secure growth and sales of low tox preservation solutions across Europe and the US. You shall expect some travelling across continents.

Because of the nature of the industry, it can be expected that when entering agreements, you will meet questions about regulations, compliance and documentation, and to support you in managing and documenting these efforts, you will collaborate with experts and specialists.

Your main tasks will include:

  • Driving operational development and implementing a company structure; Including finding an office location, establishing lab facilities and a small operations unit somewhere on Zealand, Denmark.
  • Managing an EU funded project in terms of timelines, resources, documentation and deliveries.
  • Overseeing an Application R&D team at the Danish Technical Institute (DTI) as part of an EU/LIFE project.
  • Support the sales unit with documentation and sales materials, and after sales, take customer specific requests and adjust these in manufacturing processes.
  • Keeping informed on industry trends, products, services, competitors, existing, and emerging technologies, and product-line developments.
